Endangered Bodies and all its local groups (AnyBody UK (London), AnyBody Argentina, AnyBody Deutschland, Endangered Bodies Ireland, Endangered Bodies NYC, Endangered Bodies Sao Paolo, Endangered Bodies Australia and Endangered Bodies New Zealand) will only collect, process and store information about you that you have willingly provided. We aim to be open about collecting this information and clear about what we will use it for.

When you give us a donation or sign up to support us in other ways we will ask for your information. We use this information to manage your engagement with us, such as processing your donation and sending you information about our campaigns so that you can take part in supporting our work. We ensure that there are appropriate technical controls in place to protect your personal details. For example, our donation forms are always encrypted and our network is protected and routinely monitored.

We will process your personal data on the basis of your consent and/or our legitimate interests (which include the administration and improvement of our websites, the provision of information about our services, campaigns and fundraising activities, management of relationships with our volunteers, donors and other supporters and for compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations).

We will never sell or swap your details. We will only share your information with third parties as necessary for the process of managing your engagement with us, such as payment processors for donations.

Some of our groups run their actions outside the European Union and the European Economic Area (EEA). Although they might not be subject to same data protection laws as in European Countries, we will take steps to make sure they provide an adequate level of protection in accordance with EU data protection law. By consenting to submit your personal information to us for the purposes outlined above, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing at a location outside the EEA. 

There are times when we may be forced to share your information with police, regulatory bodies or legal advisors without your permission (sometimes referred to as ‘breaching confidentiality’). This could be for one of the following reasons:

  • where the user is disclosing information about an act of terrorism;
  • where a court orders Endangered Bodies or any of its groups to disclose information;
  • where there is reasonable cause to suspect that an adult’s life may be in immediate danger;
  • where there is reasonable cause to suspect that a child or young person may be experiencing or at risk of experiencing significant harm.

Automatic Data Collection Technologies and Cookies

As you navigate through and interact with our Website, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your equipment, browsing actions and patterns. These help us to understand how supporters use our site, and to make improvements. We make sure that your data is only seen by people who need to view it for their work/activism and that our fellow activists are trained in protecting your information.

Keeping your information up to date and how long we keep it for

Where possible we keep our records up to date and use public records to do this in some cases. We are more easily able to do this if you let us know when your details change.

We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity. 

If you request that we stop sending you information about our campaigns and volunteer opportunities, we may keep a record of your contact details and appropriate information to enable us to comply with your request not to be contacted by us.

Legacy income is vital to the running of the charity. We may keep data you provide to us indefinitely, to carry out legacy administration and communicate effectively with the families of people leaving us legacies. This also enables us to identify and analyse the source of legacy income we receive.

Right to access your information

You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you. If you’d like a copy of some or all of your personal information please email or write to us using the contact details noted below.

You may make a subject access request (“SAR”) at any time to find out more about the personal data which we hold about you. We are usually required to respond to SARs within one month of receipt (this can be extended by up to two months in the case of complex and/or numerous requests, and in such cases the data subject shall be informed of the need for the extension).

All subject access requests must be sent to data@endangeredbodies.org.

We do not charge a fee for the handling of normal SARs. We reserve the right to charge reasonable fees for additional copies of information that has already been supplied to a data subject, and for requests that are manifestly unfounded or excessive, particularly where such

requests are repetitive.

You also have the following rights in respect of your personal data:
